The Carol Brice Branch of North Carolina is delighted to announce the 2019 NANM Scholarship Competition for Voice. In honor of NANM's 100th anniversary, an in honor of our first scholarship winner, Marian Anderson, this year's competition has been named the "Marian Anderson Vocal Arts Competition." Contestants will first compete on the local, then the regional level. Based on these contests, each region will send a contestant to compete at the national phase of the competition, to be held Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the 100th Annual NANM National Convention in Chicago, Illinois. The required repertoire embraces the works of European and American composers, while highlighting the contributions of African-American composers.
